What is the Chicago Central District?

The Chicago Central District Church of the Nazarene is the partnership of 66 active local congregations, some of those functioning as multi-congregational churches, within a geographical region comprised of 12 counties in northeast Illinois. From the Wisconsin border in the north, to the city of Danville in the south, these churches are part of a global denominational affiliation known as the Church of the Nazarene. Celebrating our denominational centennial in 2008, and our district centennial in 2004, ours is a rich history of Christian ministry.

Our mission is to make Christ-like disciples in the nations.

Our core values are announced in the following three-fold declaration of our identity:

  • We are a Christian people
  • We are Holiness people
  • We are Missional people

We invite you to visit one of our local churches (click on "Local Churches" tab above), worshipping in any of of a dozen given languages on any given Sunday and at times on Saturday evenings and other weekdays as well. You will find us to be a friendly, family-oriented people, who are always looking for ways to make a difference in the world, with a Good Word of grace, forgiveness, hope, cleansing, healing, holiness, justice, and life transformation.
